As you may have guessed, the highlight of our participation in the event will be the unveiling of the remarkable new Aqua Marina Glow SUP standup paddle board.

With an unrestricted approach to product design and material development, we brought together a collective of the most influential leaders in our industry, and created Cab Design Works; A group of people whose sole focus is to push the boundaries of the sports we know and love.

One person who is a key part of this team is Pat Goodman. Pat was there from the near beginning of Cabrinha.  His designs allowed the brand to lead and direct the future of our sport, and we are extremely happy to have him back reunited with the brand and part of the Cab Design Works.

Pat has been working closely with the rest of the team and our material suppliers for the past month and we are on a great path for the future, and cannot wait to share the products he has been working on.

We might still be recovering from the insanity at World Champs on the weekend but we have some big news about our team line-up for next season.

For 2021 we’re introducing a well-rounded team capable of great results in three different categories. First up is Jordan Williams, an exciting young talent who joins the Factory team to ride in the junior category after two successful years as a development rider. We’ve been committed to developing young talent at Madison Saracen, and with our Elite Male rider Matt Walker there to mentor Jordan he’s in good hands. Matt himself has his sights set on more World Cup podium success at the Elite level next year and we’re really excited to see him back on the hill on race weekend again.

Brand new to the team for next year is Elite Women’s rider Veronika Widmann. Ranked no.3 by the UCI, Veronika has shown tremendous improvement and determination to make it onto the World Cup podium and we’re incredibly excited that she’s chosen Madison Saracen to be the next chapter in her career. Veronika will be a valuable addition to the team both on and off the race track, and her presence and interaction with fans makes her an excellent ambassador for all things MTB.

Veronika said: “I’m beyond stoked and grateful for the opportunity to begin with Madison Saracen. It’s a dream setup and I can’t wait for the new season.”

One final addition to Madison Saracen as Assistant Manager is Harry Molloy, returning to the team where he was one of the original riders back in 2011. Harry has gone on to manage his own team whilst continuing to race, picking up knowledge and experience that will help all the team riders as he supports them on and off the hill. Harry will also take on some individual challenges and events that showcase the best in our sponsors’ products. From gravel to big mountain, it’s time to share some adventures.

Looking forward to 2021 Will Longden, Team Manager said: “I’m excited to be heading this talented team of riders, who each show a fresh enthusiasm and determination to achieve their best. It reignites my passion for the sport and I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead. Getting stuck in to what Madison Saracen Team is all about, developing talent to the highest level and inspiring everyone to get out and ride.”

Dom Langan, CEO of Madison and Sportline, said: “Firstly I would like to thank Danny for everything he brought to the team over the last three years and I wish him every success for the future. I am also delighted to see Jordan Williams move up from our development team to follow in the footsteps of Matt Walker, as the development of young talent is key to the ethos of the team. The Madison Saracen Team enjoyed early success with our first female rider, Manon Carpenter, and I am very pleased to have Veronika joining the team with a very promising future ahead of her.”

This does mean that the time has come to say goodbye to Danny Hart. Thanks to Danny for a great three years including a memorable World Cup win in Snowshoe and best of luck for the future.

Insane! That was an unforgettable World Championships, in some of the toughest conditions we’ve ever seen.. otherwise known as an average weekend at the British Downhill Series!

After solid qualifying runs, crashes for Danny Hart and Matt Walker put them out of the race for gold, but they weren’t alone, as almost every rider had their troubles in the steep and boggy woods. It was the Scot, Reece Wilson who managed to hang on for gold - great to see a Brit take home the stripes!

The good news for Danny and Matt is that the splits were solid all weekend, so we know that the pace is there and we are now ready to get stuck into the first of four World Cup rounds.

Never have we been more excited to be heading to Maribor and the reassuring solidity of their rock garden…

Danny staring down the track before qualifying, before it really started to deteriorate.

Danny did everything he could to come out at 13th and was happy to see the back of that track. He said: "A worlds I’d like to quickly put in my rear view mirror! What a few days... #2020"

By the time finals came around, the woods were an absolute lottery as we see Matt searching for a decent line!
Matt Walker held on for a respectable 16th in the end and had this to say: "Tough mudder! Some really nice splits but a crash at the bottom put me out of contention. Happy with my speed, onto Maribor!"

MAUI, Hawaii – February 12, 2020

Cabrinha the world leader in kitesurfing equipment is investing into the future! The iconic kitesurfing brand, founded in the year 2000 by namesake and surf industry pioneer Pete Cabrinha, today announced new ownership on the eve of the company’s 20th brand anniversary. Pete Cabrinha along with Water Bound Investments, led by former professional kitesurfer and long-time Cabrinha professional athlete Jon Modica have partnered in the purchase and future development of the Cabrinha brand assets.

In addition to continuing Cabrinha’s legacy as key innovative driver and market leader in the surf segment – especially in kitesurfing – the new ownership structure builds on the recent relocation of brand headquarters back to Cabrinha’s birthplace on the North Shore of Maui, Hawaii where Pete leads the product marketing and development operations.

According to Founder and Brand Director Pete Cabrinha, “The Cabrinha team and I are extremely excited by what this initiative means to the evolution of the brand. This new structure unlocks our ability to be uninhibited in terms of design and innovation, to be faster on our feet, and to have the capacity to expand on our award winning range of products. The company’s research and development facility in Maui is perfectly situated for testing in all wind and water conditions. The most significant water sports of the last 30 years have come from Maui and Cabrinha has played an instrumental role in pioneering of all of them. The Hawaiian Island has long been known as the epicenter of windsurfing, tow surfing, stand up paddleboarding, kitesurfing, and foilboarding since the very beginning of each sport. Today, Maui remains the proving ground for the world’s best water sports products and the preferred stomping grounds for leading wind and wave athletes.

With Modica as the new chairman, Cabrinha will focus on advancing product development and partnerships with international athletes and ambassadors, always grounded in kitesurfing and the lifestyle of travel and adventure.

To take on the role of Cabrinha’s CEO, Modica has appointed Kent Marinkovic, President of Adventure Sports Inc., the world’s leading distributor of Cabrinha Kites.

Having served the company since its early beginnings, the industry veteran with over 30 years of experience in the surf business is ready to lead Cabrinha into the next chapter.
